For anyone who works on camera from home

If your workday runs on Zoom, Teams or Google Meet, you're on camera for hours. Best Light is for working professionals who want to look polished and refreshed on those calls without putting on a full face of makeup first.

Take the full tour

Live, recorded and in tutorials

On video calls

Choose Best Light as your camera in Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet. Your look is on before the call starts and holds as you turn and talk.

On recorded videos

Add a video you've made, set your look and save a retouched copy. Click a blemish in one frame and it stays gone for the whole video.

In tutorials

Put your face in a round bubble over a screen recording, retouched with the same look.

What makes it different

It stays on your Mac

Best Light does all its work locally on your Mac. Your camera picture and your videos are never uploaded, so they stay private to you.

You still look like you

Every setting starts at natural. Foundation matches your own skin, and makeup goes on lightly in the colors you pick. It won't make dramatic changes to your appearance unless you ask it to.

Set it once

A short list of everyday controls covers the basics. About 40 more are there when you want finer control. Save your look once and it's ready for every call.

Questions

How is this different from the filters in Zoom, Teams or Google Meet?

Call apps offer a few ready-made looks that change everything at once, and they can look heavy or fake. In Best Light you set each part yourself: foundation, lip color, blush, liner, lashes and brows, and how subtle or strong each one is.

Best Light maps your face, skin and hair, so makeup stays in place as you move and stays off your hair or a hand in front of your face. It clears the blemishes you pick instead of blurring your whole face.

Does Best Light send my video anywhere?

No. Best Light processes your camera picture and your videos on your Mac. Pictures of your face aren't sent to us or to anyone else. Signing up gives us only your email address.

Which Macs will it run on?

Macs with Apple chips (M1 or newer) running macOS 14 Sonoma or later. On Macs with 16 GB of memory or more, Best Light runs smoothly. On Macs with 8 GB, such as a base MacBook Air, your video may lag a little behind your voice. That's fine for everyday calls. If it bothers you, close other apps or turn off a few effects.

What if my video lags?

In Best Light, choose Copy Speed Report from the menu bar icon and paste it into an email to [email protected]. It has numbers about speed and your Mac, no pictures. We'll use it to make Best Light faster.

Which call apps does it work with?

Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet, plus most other apps that let you pick a camera. Best Light appears in their camera list.

Is there a Windows version?

Best Light is for Macs only.

How much will it cost?

The beta is free, and you keep it free for good. Features we add later may come in a paid version. We haven't set a price yet.

Can I try it now?
